The growing phenomenon of solo women travelers has demonstrated equal travel opportunities between men and women. It has also contributed to promoting the cultural image and economic development within the tourism sectors of many countries. Having a tremendous tourism potential, Morocco is a favorite destination for International solo women travelers. Therefore, the objective of this study is to investigate the experiences of international solo female travelers to Morocco before, during, and after traveling. The theoretical approach used is focused on feminist, postcolonial, and tourism studies. A qualitative method is adopted through a semi-structured and in-depth interview technique with a convenience sampling of 20 international solo female travelers. Results show that the respondents’ motivations include cultural understanding, experiential learning, and empowerment. They reported that their interactions with local people were positive. However, their experiences reflect ambivalence towards public services such as transportation and tour guiding. The issue of safety emerged as a recurring theme as the majority faced sexual and physical violence in the public space. This study, therefore, contributes to the understanding of women’s contemporary travel experience and informs the different stakeholders about the challenges international solo female travelers confront in Morocco. Implementing effective solutions is expected to advance Morocco’s tourism objectives and accelerate the practical realization of Sustainable Development Goals.
